Job Description

This is a part-time remote role for a UI/Visual Designer. In this role, you will focus primarily on the visual and aesthetic side of our product design work. You’ll collaborate with product managers, fellow designers, and developers to bring highly polished user interfaces to life. While a foundation in UX is expected, this role leans heavily toward UI craft, visual creativity, and pixel-level finesse.

Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces for web and mobile products.
– Create high-fidelity mockups, design systems, visual assets, and components in Figma.
– Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and project managers to ensure visual consistency and high-quality implementation.
– Work closely with senior designers to implement design feedback and iterate on designs.
– Assist in refining brand identity applications within digital products (colors, typography, icons, illustrations).
– Stay current with design trends and continuously push the visual quality of our work.

Designers with experience in visual communication, layout, and composition tend to perform especially well here. This role has historically been a great fit for candidates transitioning from branding, advertising, or graphic design backgrounds. This is not a strict requirement, your portfolio will be the most important tool to demonstrate these skills. We’re specifically looking for:

– Strong UI craft – High-fidelity mockups that show attention to layout, hierarchy, spacing, and typography.
A refined visual sense – We want to see great use of color, creative direction, and a well-developed aesthetic style.
– Detail-oriented work – Designs that feel complete, polished, and intentional down to the pixel.
– Digital product work – Web or mobile app designs are a must. If you’re coming from a branding or graphic design background, we expect to see some experience working with digital products.

We’re less focused on UX research artifacts for this role, but if you have them, feel free to include them as supplementary material. What matters most is your ability to make digital products beautiful, modern, and easy to use.
